PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regressive reflection type photoelectric sensor having improved stability of detection of a detected object. PSOLUTION: The regressive reflection type photoelectric sensor includes a sensor body 10 formed of a projecting system projecting a circularly polarized light and a light-receiving system for selectively receiving reverse circularly polarized light, when a light mixed with reverse circularly polarized light and the circularly polarized light is incident, and a regressive reflection part 30 converting the circularly polarized light into a light, containing the reverse circularly polarized light and reflecting it. The sensor body 10 includes a projector element, a light-receiving element, a quarter-wave plate 28 for converting vertically polarized light into circularly polarized light and converting the reverse circularly polarized light into a vertically polarized light, and a polarizing filter 26. The polarizing filter 26 is arranged between the light-receiving element 4 and a phase differential board 28 on a light-receiving channel, from the regressive reflecting part 30 up to the light-receiving element 4 and causes the vertically polarized light to selectively transmit.
