PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for enhancing the sterilization effect of air by increasing an ion generating quantity.;SOLUTION: In this air conditioner, a discharge surface 2 of an ion generating element 1 is arranged, so that the upstream side approaches an installation plate 3 with respect to an air flow passage P, and the downstream side becomes more distant from the installation plate 3.
