PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress write to a magnetic tape when a virtual tape output from a virtual library device to the magnetic tape is in a write inhibited state.;SOLUTION: The virtual library device 1 comprises: a virtual tape attribute information storage part 221 for storing write protection information indicating whether or not the virtual tape is write-inhibited for each virtual tape 31; and a virtual tape output means 23 for reading the virtual tape from a magnetic disk device 3, writing it to a removable medium 41, then setting the write protection means 412 of the removable medium to write inhibition when the write protection information corresponding to the virtual tape is the write inhibition, erasing the virtual tape from the magnetic disk device and also deleting information relating to the virtual tape from the virtual tape attribute information storage part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
