PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle size distribution estimation method for quicksand capable of easily and quickly obtaining particle size distribution of the quicksand, with desired accuracy, in a simple measuring facility.;SOLUTION: A collision elastic wave measuring object 2, integrally attached with an accelerometer 3, is set in a river basin to measure elastic waves generated when the quicksand flowing in the rover collides, and estimates the particle size distribution of the quicksand, based on a contact time T that is the time interval where a vibration waveform, measured by the vibrometer 3 crosses a zero line when the quicksand, collides with the collision elastic wave measuring object 2, in waveform analysis for the elastic wave.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
