PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater stirring method which is enhanced in the stirring efficiency of wastewater, rapidly dissolves a flocculant in wastewater, increases a flocculation and sedimentation speed and forms flocs into a firm shape to obtain treated water high in transparency, and a stirring tank.;SOLUTION: This stirring tank includes a stirring tank body 20 into which wastewater is introduced, a stirrer 21 installed at the central part of the upper surface of the stirring tank body 20 and the same number of baffle plates 29-34 respectively distributed and arranged to three layers, that is, the upper layer part 26, intermediate layer part 27 and lower layer part 28 of the inner peripheral wall of the stirring tank body 20. By driving the stirrer 21, wastewater is rotated at its center part by the respective baffle plates to produce a water stream flowing from below to above in the outside, a water stream flowing from above to below in the inside and vertical rotary water streams respectively flowing between the respective baffle plates. These water streams gradually move to the upper part of the stirring tank body 20 and this movement is repeated to form flocs while stirring the wastewater.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
