PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding device which is adaptable to an object to be held having various widths and to provide an optical fiber welding connection device having the holding device and an optical fiber opening device.;SOLUTION: A holding device 1B is provided with a main body 10B and a cover 20 which is mounted onto the main body in a freely rotative manner. The body 10B is provided with a groove 12B whose groove width is continuously varied from one end 12f to the other end 12e.
