PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate a lateral force to be generated in the tire of a vehicle.;SOLUTION: This automobile 1 performs state estimation by a Kalman filter based on a state equation representing the behavior of front and rear wheels as a primary delay system to be driven by disturbance for estimating the lateral force of front and rear wheels. Therefore, it is possible to acquire a tire lateral force as the solution of the state equation which is established with respect to the behavior of the tire. Thus, it is possible to estimate the tire lateral force whose estimated error is more reduced than a conventional manner.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
