PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain Japanese paper having a pattern provided with a handle of cotton fiber prepared by entangling a cotton fiber with the fiber of a paper stock, by using a cotton fiber as a decorative raw material. ;SOLUTION: A cotton woven fabric 5 is cut biasedly based on texture to give a belt-like fabric, which is beaten and loosened into a fibrous or cotton shape to form a decorative raw material. A proper amount of the decorative raw material is scattered on a paper stock solution in a paper making tank, a paper stock solution is scooped so as to pick up the decorative raw material on a draining board, the paper stock solution is slowly moved so as to form a fixed pattern on the draining board. The fibers of the paper stock solution and the decorative solution are mutually entangled sufficiently and a wet paper released from the draining board is pressed, dehydrated and dried.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
