PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve estimation accuracy of phase upon the phase being restored, in a method for restoring phase information which uses phase contrast method. PSOLUTION: The method for restoring phase information by detecting the intensity of radiations transmitted through an object comprises the steps of (a) obtaining a plurality of difference signals representing a difference between one image signal and another image signal, based on three image signals obtained by detecting the intensity of radiations on different three surfaces different in distances from the object, and representing radiation image information at the three surfaces, (b) finding the result of application of the Laplacian operator on a plurality of phases based on any/or of the three image signals and the plurality of the difference signals, (c) computing the plurality of the phases by applying inverse Laplacian computation to a plurality of the phases of the Laplacians, and (d) computing the average of the plurality of the phases computed in step (c).
