PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve throughput of a computer system having a storage by reducing loads on a host computer and a network when storage management information of a disk subsystem is collected. PSOLUTION: The disk subsystem is provided with a CPU and a main storage device, and information on a disk is collected in accordance with a request from a management computer. An information collection program is operated on the disk subsystem. By this, volume management information can be compiled on the disk subsystem and used by the management computer.
