PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging method in which a portable terminal is charged quickly when it is connected with a charger mounted on a battery-assisted bicycle and such a trouble as the portable terminal cannot be used over a long time is minimized.;SOLUTION: Loaded/unloaded state of a portable terminal 9 on/from a vehicle mounted charger 11 is detected, and when a state where the portable terminal 9 is loaded continuously on the vehicle mounted charger 11 is detected, a terminal battery 22 incorporated in the portable terminal 9 is charged intermittently at a specified time interval.
