PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backfill structure in a reliable caisson joint while reducing the feed quantity of backfilling stones.;SOLUTION: A plurality of caissons 11 are installed so as to line up at specified distances through joints on a rubble mound 12 and after a joint member 16 has been put on the joint of caissons 11 so as to cover the joints, a mat 21 is put on the rubble mound 12 of the rear face of the joint member 16. A plurality of box-shaped gabions 19 in which backfilling stones are fed are thrown and arranged one by one on the mat 21 to stack necessary gabions. After the complete stack of gabions 19, they are bundled with wires to complete a weight member 18 supporting the joint member 16. A sandproof fabric 23 is laid to cover the outside face of the weight member 18. Then, the backfilling work is completed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
