A method for discriminating snow crab larvae and red crab larvae among species belonging to the genus Snow crab

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide (1) a monoclonal antibody and a polyclonal antibody enabling a larva belonging to the genus Chionoecetes which is the crustacean larva floating in seawater to be differentiated by a species level so as to judge whether the species is a larva of a snow crab or not, (2) a method for producing a polyclonal antibody having excellent reaction specificity, and (3) a method for readily, rapidly accurately and objectively differentiating the species of a specimen Chionoecetes larva (judging whether the specimen crustacean larva is the larva of the snow crab or not) in a completely individual state (without crushing) by which the differentiation is carried out after immobilization by formalin or the like. PSOLUTION: This monoclonal antibody or polyclonal antibody recognizes the larva of the snow crab belonging to the genus Chionoecetes in a complete individual state, and does not recognize the larva of other species belonging to the genus Chionoecetes. The specimen Chionoecetes larva in the complete individual state is differentiated so as to judge whether the larva is the larva of the snow crab or not by using the antibody. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
