IMPROVED ADJUSTABLE WEIR GATES FOR WEIR HEAD ASSEMBLY

The present invention relates to improved adjustable weir gates for use in irrigation management and canal systems. They comprise of hollow 'U' shaped hemispherical gates made from ferrous or non-ferrous metal or fibre glass or reinforced plastic or any of these combinations and coated with anti-corrosive material. These gates are arranged in a cascading manner in tandem and operated by means of a sliding mechanism for upward and downward lifting and lowering of the gates and having an electronic or electrical or mechanical mechanisms for controlling the said lifting and lowering. The 'U' shaped and hemispherical gates improve the strength and distribute the load uniformly on the weir assembly.
