Each vehicle (AB, CD) includes at least one sensor for determining the global position of the vehicle within the system infrastructure and the processor unit used to calculate the distance between two vehicles can also calculate the positions and velocity vectors of the vehicles relative to each other and to the infrastructure. Each vehicle has at least one transmitter and at least one receiver for signals used to determine the distance between two vehicles.
