The set is for the production of a projection screen on a basic surface and is provided with magnetic paint and at least one magnetic strip which in operation limits four sides of the projection field. The magnetic paint and the magnetic strips are magnetic inherently or are magnetizable. After the application of the magnetic paint on the basic surface (1), the magnetic strips under magnetic force are releasably couplable with the magnetic paint on the basic surface. The set to be used by a user comprises a pot of magnetic paint, a pot of contrast-enhancing paint, a pot of brightness-increasing paint, four magnetic strips and preferably further a roll of adhesive tape and brushes or rollers. The adhesive strips (2) are applied to the basic surface in the dimensions and shape of the desired projection screen. Then with the aid of a brush (3) magnet paint is applied in stripes (4) with a width (b) within the field (5) limited by the adhesive tape (2). The magnetic paint preferably contains particles containing iron.
