The fish guiding system functions along an obstacle such as a water power plant (1) with a throughflow (2), around which are diversion devices (3), which can contain stroboscope lights. Along the water power plant runs a conduit (4) with an input aperture (5) and an outflow aperture (6). The input aperture is directed flow downstream so that concomitant pollutants can not come directly into the input aperture. When fish (V) swim in the main stream of the water power plant, they are frightened away by the stroboscope lights so that they do not swim through the aperture (2). Instead, they turn partly against the current so that they come by the inflow aperture (5).
