The present invention relates to an ELISA diagnostic kit for the assay of A.pleuropneumoniae serotypes 5a and 5b antibodies in theserum of pigs comprising in separate packaging, at least one of the following:a) a plate or solid support having bound thereto a purifiedlipopolysaccharide A. pleuropneumoniae serotype 5 antigen for a specificbinding to anti-A. pleuropneumoniae serotypes 5a or 5b antibodiespresent in the serum of pigs, wherein the bound antigen is stored in asolution which keeps said bound antigen stable for 25 weeks at 4°C:b) serum from pigs experimentally inoculated with a strain of A.pleuropneumoniae serotypes 5 to serve as a positive control; c) pig serumfrom A. pleuropneumoniae free herd to serve as a negative control; and d) adetectably labeled conjugate which bind to pigs antibodiesbound to the plate of a).
