TRANSMISSION PARAMETER ESTIMATING APPARATUS AND TRANSMISSION PARAMETER ESTIMATING METHOD

A propagation parameter estimating apparatus capable of estimating, by using a SAGE algorithm to avoid any erroneous estimations, a propagation parameter of a path for which, when the reception level largely varies, the power largely attenuates as compared to a peak wave power. In this apparatus, a dividing part (150) time divides and blocks, from the power level of a delay profile, baseband signals in a time sequence for each of path groups having like reception levels. A received signal setting part (160) and a PN sequence setting part (170) extract, based on the division information related to the block length of each block, the baseband signal received in each block period and the PN sequence having, as a sequence length, the time length of each block, respectively. A propagation parameter estimating part (180) uses the baseband signal and PN sequence extracted in association with each block to establish initial values of delay time, incoming angle and amplitude, and then uses a SAGE algorithm to estimate a propagation parameter.
