A plate making method, which makes out a printing plate from a printing plate material, is characterized in including an image output step for outputting an image output on the basis of first control strip image data having a density gray scale along a longitudinal direction with a two-dimensional quasi-gray scale in the printing plate material and second control strip image data having a constant density along the longitudinal direction with a gray-scale that is different from the two-dimensional quasi-gray scale in the printing plate material, and an image forming process for forming an image (1) of the first control strip image data on the printing plate material and an image (2) of the second control strip image data on the printing plate material.
