Embodiment method for pointing interface of mobile device and apparatus thereof

A method and a device for implementing a pointing interface of a mobile device are provided to perform pointing quickly and correctly under mobile environment without a pointing device such as a mouse, a trackball, and a touch screen when a user uses various kinds of mobile device, such as a mobile phone and a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant). A key input part(10) generates various kinds of key signals including a selection signal for executing an application and pointing an area according to user manipulation. A microcontroller(20) controls execution of the application and a pointing program according to the key signal received from the key input part, divides a screen of the application into each predetermined unit, and displays the divided application screen. The microcontroller continuously subdivides the area selected by the user until area selection is finished based on the key signal for selecting the area, and locates a pointing cursor to the area when the area selection is finished. A display controller(50) controls display of the application screen, the screen divided for pointing, and data including the pointing cursor of the selected area by the microcontroller.
