POLICY BASED QOS SUPPORTED BY IMS IN BROADBAND CONVERGENCE NETWORK

A policy-based quality supply method through a session-based network in a wideband network is provided to comply with quality degrees in accordance with various multimedia services by using an IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) in the wideband network, thus a user can conveniently use multimedia services regardless of time and space. A P-CSCF(Proxy-Call Session Control Function)(10) transmits a call setup message to an S(Serving)-CSCF(20). The S-CSCF(20) receives the call setup message to extract user routing information from a master DB(50), and sends the extracted information to a next IMS server. A PDF(15) extracts SDP information included in the call setup message to convert the extracted information into a user quality requirement format, generates a user quality requirement authentication value, and determines a policy.
