METHOD FOR ACTIVATING USER SERVICE OF USER TERMINAL BASED ON STATE INFORMATION

A method for activating a user device's service on the basis of state information is provided to enable a service provider, which provides contents through wire/wireless networks, to remotely maintain and manage the activation state of each user device according to its state information. If a consumer purchases a user device, which is in a "factory initialization" state, for the first time(S21), the purchaser side of the user device makes a connection request to a service provider's DMS(Device Management Server) by directly manipulating the user device or using URL information which is previously and basically stored in the memory(S22). The DMS accepts the user device's connection request(S23). The DMS acquires "./dEVLNFO/*", the basic information of the user device, and registers it with the connected URL address(S24,S25). Then the DMS sends an ACK message to notify the user device that registration has been completed, and changes this registration information into a preset management object value(S26). In this case, the user device becomes a "DMS registration" state.
