A computer readable recording medium storing a memorial day notification program, a memorial day notification method, and a portable terminal using the same are provided to enable a user to record data for a memorial day without having an intense consciousness to record data for the memorial day by controlling various applications so as to record associated data in accordance with a notification for the memorial day. A memorial day judgement part in a portable terminal judges whether a memorial day comes(S201). If the memorial day comes, the memorial day judgement part notifies the user of the portable terminal that the memorial day has come(S202). Then a memorial day operation control part judges whether the user makes an operation for the portable terminal(S203). If the user makes a certain operation, the memorial day operation control part controls various applications so as to record data in connection with the memorial day. In this case, the memorial day operation control part drives a memo input application, outputs a memorial day input screen through a display part, and records a memo for the memorial day(S204). Also the memorial day operation control part activates an image pickup application, outputs an image pickup screen through the display part, and records an image for the memorial day(S205).
