A method for displaying a world time and a mobile terminal having a display unit for providing information about a world time are provided to allow a user to recognize a particular country and/or city conveniently as selected and provided other information together with time information. An input unit(110) is provided at one body of a mobile terminal. A display unit(120) is provided at one body of the mobile terminal. The display unit includes the first display region providing a list of country names and/or city names to allow selecting of a country and/or a city and providing a map image allowing checking of a location of a selected country and/or city, and the second display region providing time information about the selected country and/or city and image information for allowing recognizing of the selected country and/or city. The first or second display region provides a country code or a country code and an area code of the selected country and/or city to allow call communication.
