A composition comprising a mixture of an extract of mulberry leaves, an extract of Cinnamomum cassia barks and an extract of grape seeds is provided to show hypoglycemic effect by inhibiting the activity of alpha-glucosidase. A hypoglycemic composition comprises 55-65 wt.% of an extract of mulberry leaves, 5-35 wt.% of an extract of Cinnamomum cassia barks and 5-35 wt.% of an extract of grape seeds. A method for preparing the hypoglycemic composition comprises the steps of: (a) respectively drying and crushing mulberry leaves, Cinnamomum cassia barks and grape seeds; (b) respectively extracting the crushed raw materials with a mixture solvent of water and alcohol; (c) concentrating each of extract and hydrolyzing it; and (d) mixing each hydrolzed mulberry leaves, Cinnamomum cassia barks and grape seeds in a weight ratio of 55-65:5-35:5-35.
