A method for treatment of sewage sludge is provided to prevent corrosion of an engine, drop in an output of the engine, or damage of machinery and tools in a gas engine generator exclusively using the digestion gas and operate the gas engine generator safely and smoothly by removing corrosive materials, water, fine particles and siloxanes contained in digestion gas, and provide an economical and efficient alternative energy using the purified gas. A method for treatment of sewage sludge comprises the steps of: (a) purifying digestion gas generated from an anaerobic digestion tank of sewage sludge; (b) operating a gas engine generator using the purified digestion gas to produce electric power; and (c) recovering waste heat from the gas engine generator to supply a heat source for heating the digestion tank, wherein the step(a) comprises: a first step of passing anaerobic digestion gas through a siloxane removing device(160) to adsorb and remove siloxane; a second step of passing the digestion gas that has passed through the siloxane removing device through a first gas filter(151) to separate and remove fine particles contained in the digestion gas; a third step of passing the digestion gas that has passed through the first gas filter through a first dehumidifier(152) to remove fine water contained in the digestion gas; a fourth step of passing the digestion gas that has passed through the first dehumidifier through an activated carbon filter(153) to remove water, dust, hydrogen sulfide, mercaptan, carbon dioxide, and aromatic hydrocarbons contained in the digestion gas; a fifth step of allowing a gas blower(154) to pressurize the digestion gas that has passed through the activated carbon filter; a sixth step of allowing a post-cooler(155) to condense water contained in the pressurized digestion gas to lower temperature of the digestion gas; a seventh step of allowing a water separator(156) to separate water contained in the digestion gas that has passed through the post-cooler; an eighth step of passing the digestion gas that has passed through the water separator through a first filter(157) to remove particulate solids contained in the digestion gas, and passing the particulate solid-removed digestion gas through a second dehumidifier(158); a ninth step of collecting the digestion gas that has passed through the second dehumidifier into a gas receiver tank(171); and a tenth step of transferring the collected digestion gas to a micro-filter(172) and a second filter(173) to remove fine particles from the digestion gas. Further, the first gas filter removes particles of 3 mum or more, the first filter removes particles of 1 mum or more, and the micro-filter and the second filter removes particle of 3 mum or more.
