A process for increasing the precision of fit of a with a positioning device (2 – 8; 14 – 18) vehicle - attachment part, in which:a), the add-on part, in a measuring coordinates system (x, y, z) is positioned,b) an actual position (a, b), which a first reference point (p) of the vehicle - attachment part in the measuring coordinates system, measured andc) the measurement in a desired -, - comparison, a positional deviation is determined, which the first reference point (p) in a first coordinate direction (x) has to its desired position,d) and in which the positioning device (2 – 8; 14 – 18) prior to assembly of the attachment part for the reduction of the positional deviation is corrected.
