The method involves determining quality of service parameters by measuring and information modules (3, 3`) using a request of an application function of a service (2), where the modules are arranged in a transition area between the service and a network (9). Data received at a network resource are stored in a memory or are transmitted to the service. The parameters are transmitted from the measuring and information modules on an application level to a terminal (1) using a communication protocol. Adaptation of a service reply to the resource is taken place through scaling of the data. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for providing assurance of a quality of service.
