The method involves reading one of pixel rows of a charge coupled device (CCD)-image sensor in a selected row and shifting loads of the pixel rows on the sensor in a next pixel row towards the selected row in a time required for reading. The next reading process of another pixel row takes place in another time, which is synchronized for relative speed of an object image in the sensor. The allocation of colors of the image is computed to individual pixels from the loads by an interpolation process based on evaluation of color portions of a Bayer-matrix. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining color information of an object image using a charge coupled device (CCD)-image sensor.
