After the catalytic converter, gases are retarded by a densification material (V). In a main chamber, an amount of saturated calcium hydroxide solution (Ca(OH)2) is accurately determined in advance by a computer (R) and a probe (S) for measuring carbon dioxide (CO2) and sprayed out through an atomizer. The CO2 and Ca(OH)2 totally react to calcium carbonate and water. An independent claim is also included for an alternative operating possibility to the main claim.
