The method involves partitioning a cooling medium chamber into an upper cooling medium sub area and a lower cooling medium sub area. The two cooling medium sub areas are formed during casting of a cylinder head (1) by an upper casted core and a lower casted core, where the upper casted core lies on the lower casted core at support points, which form flow connections between the cooling medium sub areas after the casting procedure. The lower casted core is held on a side, which faces a combustion chamber (3) of the cylinder head by an outer casted core. An independent claim is also included for a cylinder head for a liquid-cooled internal-combustion engine.
