The device has a doctor blade chamber (04) engaging at a roller (01) and comprising a closing doctor blade (13) fitted at a mantle surface (03) during operation. A working doctor blade (12) is arranged behind the closing doctor blade in a rotating direction (A) of the roller, where the working doctor blade is movably supported at a housing (06) of the doctor blade chamber in a direction transverse to the mantle surface. The working doctor blade is pressed against the mantle surface under pre-stress during operation and aligned approximately radial to the roller during operation.
