Diesel-internal combustion engine operating method, involves increasing fuel pressure for subsequent combustion cycles, when actual duration of control of injector for non-torque relevant injection is shorter than target duration
The method involves injecting fuel into two combustion chambers (24a, 24b) through respective injectors (22a, 22b). An actual duration of a control of the injector (22b) for non-torque relevant injection depends on beginning of control of the injector (22a) for a torque-relevant injection. A fuel pressure is increased for subsequent combustion cycles, when the actual duration of the former control of the injector (22b) for non-torque relevant injection is shorter than a target duration. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program for executing a method for operating an internal combustion engine (2) an electrical storage medium for a control and/or regulating unit of an internal combustion engine (3) a control and/or regulating unit for an internal combustion engine.
