The electric machine has a stator arranged in a housing. A winding system is arranged in grooves of a laminated core of the stator. Winding heads are formed at front sides of the laminated core. A laminated core (2) of a rotor (1) is arranged at a shaft (7) in a torque-proof manner. The shaft is supported in two bearings in bearing flanges at the housing. The shaft has two axial sections (8, 9) between the bearings outside of the area, which is connected with the laminated core of the rotor. The axial sections are arranged consecutively. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electrical machine.
