摘要

The die has an upper part (3), a lower part (4) and a rigid form surface (1, 2) that supplies force to a metal part under plastic deformation, where the surface has surface hardness higher than that of the remain surface areas in areas (5, 6) of increased surface-related friction energy. The energy is determined by the product of coefficient of friction, local normal force between the surface and metal part, and friction path. The energy which determines local surface hardness to be selected is modified based on duty cycles of the die, material hardness and surface topology of the metal part.
