The device has a terminal (1) with a reading unit for reading drug and patient data, an input unit e.g. touchscreen, a display and a computer. An internet connector (7) is provided between the computer of the terminal and a server (5). Data communication connections (8, 9) are provided between the computer of the terminal and another server (6). The latter server has direct data lines (12) in computers in pharmacies (10, 11), and drug and patient data are stored on the latter server or directly sent, where the data is displayed, processed and printed in the selected pharmacy. An independent claim is also included for a method for purchasing drugs.
