The sensor support structure has a sensor support module (4) produced separately from a housing (2). The sensor support module is made of a grouting-compatible material i.e. poly butylene terephthalate, where the sensor support module is fastenable mechanically on the housing. A cover (8) is fastenable mechanically on the housing by latches (3) in a snap-on connection adjacent to the sensor support module. The housing is made of a warping-free material i.e. poly phenylene sulfide. Lateral recesses (5) are provided for receiving corresponding positioning aids (14) of the sensor support module. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a modular sensor support structure.
