The holder (1) has a carrier unit (2), at which a receiving section (5) is designed for inner sided gripping and supporting of a reel. A clamping unit (10) is guided at the carrier unit for outer side clamping of the reel, and is movable against a resetting force. The clamping unit is pre-stressed by the resetting force against the receiving section. A spring unit is designed as a coil spring (14), and a counter bearing is movable along the carrier unit. The counter bearing is formed by a screw (16) i.e. thumb screw.
