A ceramic slip with high solids content is atomized from a nozzle or cannula. The mechanism is air-atomization, dynamic wave formation (instability) or droplet delivery. The atomized material is added to a vessel containing a ceramic slip. This has a lower viscosity and/or solids content. It alternatively added to an ion-containing suspension. Operation is at room temperature. The pH is altered, causing transformation into a solid form. The particles are freed of the second slip or suspension. They is dried and converted to handling-resistant solid moldings. The solid particles are pressed to make components, then fired as ceramics, to reach their final properties. In a development, the handling-resistant solids are added to ceramic slip which is cast to form components, which are then fired. The ceramic slip of high solids content, contains an organic aid based on polysaccharides, alginate and/or carrageenan. The molded body itself is solidified on alteration of pH, by means of chemical reaction. The slip of high solids content leaves the nozzle in shaped form. In the slip of lower solids content, or in the suspension, it adopts a random or ordered structure. The slip alternatively leaves the nozzle as a flat jet. Kinetic energy effects cause division into fine droplets. The spherical-moldings are used directly after forming, in the dried or fired state.
