The instrument (1) has a half shell and a frame (3) that is adjacent to the half shell. The half shell is partially covered by another half shell (4) in such a manner that both the half shelves form a hollow body (5). A set of strings (6) are fastened between the frame and the hollow body, so that the strings run partially into the hollow body. The former half-shell continuously tapers in an observation direction over a larger part of its entire extension of an end of the hollow body, where observation direction runs perpendicular to the strings.
