The fluid cylinder has a setting piston (4) and a piston rod (2). The piston rod is surrounded by a unidirectional loose protective pipe (20) in axial direction of the piston rod. The protective pipe is loosely inserted into an annular groove (24) of the setting piston. The piston rod is provided with a mounting part at the disconnected end at the setting piston.
