An independent claim is included for adding a silicon-bonded hydrogen across an aliphatic carbon-carbon multiple bond, comprising reacting a compound containing aliphatic carbon-carbon multiple bonds and organo silicon compound with silicon-bonded hydrogen in the presence of at least a metal catalyst of the 8th subgroup, where from the beginning or during the reaction adding at least a silyl functional aromatic compound of formula (II), or their mixtures, as co-catalyst.
