The method involves evaluating values of test-to-bit node-message from test nodes to bit nodes. The value is evaluated based on a sum of transformed values of bit-to-test nodes-messages for the bit nodes minus transformed values of the bit-to-test nodes-messages for the bit nodes and the test nodes. A product of sign of the bit-to-test node-messages from the bit nodes is multiplied with sign of the bit-to-test node-messages from the bit nodes and the test nodes. An independent claim is also included for a decoder for decoding a code.
