Energy amount estimating method for motor vehicle, involves detecting actual gear transmission ratio of transmission, and selecting amount of energy related to gear transmission ratio based on detection of actual gear transmission ratio
The method involves arranging a starting clutch (13) e.g. friction clutch, between a prime mover (11) e.g. internal combustion engine, and a manual switching transmission (15). A slip at the clutch is estimated based on a rotational speed ahead of the clutch and a rotational speed past the transmission. An amount of energy for gear transmission ratio of the transmission is estimated, and actual gear transmission ratio of the transmission is detected. The amount of energy related to the gear transmission ratio is selected based on the detection of actual gear transmission ratio.
