The water reservoir (11) has a basin (13) to contain the water, and especially potable water, which is at least partially of brickwork (15). The basin has an inner wall (17), at least at the side walls, at a gap from the brickwork. The inner wall is formed by a spacer foil or fabric, with burrs, at the inner side which is coated with a setting synthetic resin, to define the hollow space. A fabric of woven glass fibers is laid into the plastics layer of the inner wall. The reservoir basin has at least one water inflow (19), and an outflow (21).
