System includes main pipelines extending along length of tunnel, secondary pipelines, derived from main pipelines, electrovalves, manual valves, and water nozzles placed along secondary pipelines, at around 2 meters from ground. When alarm is triggered, nozzles produce water mist that traps smoke in upper half of tunnel, allowing people to move freely under water screen. System is triggered by manual fire alarms in tunnel, or by remote operator using thermocouple, smoke and IR sensors.
