The method involves providing an analog current input signal and an analog delayed signal that lags behind the analog current input signal by a preset time delay. The analog current input signal is correlated with the analog delayed signal to generate correlation data. A signal type e.g. IEEE 802.11aorthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal, is detected based on the correlation data that matches with a signature of the signal type, where the signature is associated with the preset time delay. An independent claim is also included for a system for analog auto-correlation.
