The column (1) has a base (2) connected to a support and fixation structure by a long section (4) of length adapted for attaining a level of an acoustic armor in a sandwich type acoustic barrier, where the base is in the form of a base plate or a steel sole plate. A high acoustic absorbing layer (6) made of conglomerate cement, is found in the section from a side that is intended to be oriented towards sources of sound to be attenuated. The layer is adherent on and connected to the column, and a connecting unit connects the column to armor panels of the acoustic barrier.
