Screening of a substance potentially active for the protection of fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF-2) regarding its degradation in humans, comprises: contacting a potentially active substance with FGF-2 at a about 45[deg] C for approximately 2 hours and selection of substances that protect FGF-2 by at least 50%, preferably 65% of its degradation. An independent claim is included for the preparation of a composition containing a potentially active substance for the protection of FGF-2 regarding its degradation in human beings, comprising implementation of the screening method to identify an active substance for the protection of FGF-2, followed by mixing the selected active substance with a vehicle.
